Hi Jana,
ReplyDeleteThis is regarding the question 8. The answer would be "Select a Report Type".
This is the first step in creating a report.
Hi Sunil,
DeleteI think the question is vague - the answer would indeed be "select object" if the question was worded;
"Which is the first step when creating report type?"
Ya sunil your right.
ReplyDeleteBut here we are selecting object also ...
I am too confusing about This ..
Yeah, select report type is first step and select object is next step.

DeleteOn Question 18, limit depends upon your edition of SFDC:
ReplyDeletehttp://na8.salesforce.com/help/doc/en/limits.htm
The wording is a little tricky.
ReplyDeleteHere, Report Type refers to: tabular, summary, or matrix.
Normally though, Report Type refers to the initial report selection: Accounts, Accounts with Contacts, Accounts with Opportunities, etc.
Everyone is right; this would be the first step. However, in the question above, this step is referred to as "Select object"
Type of Report refers to :Tabular, Summary or Matrix
Deletewhile Report Type refers to.. on which object/relation we want to create report
so answer is Report type only
not object
why because we can use related objects also for reporting not a single object
Regarding Question 8:
ReplyDeleteThose two answers are correct. When u r trying to develop a report through Setup -> create -> ReportTypes -> New Report, it will asks primarily on which object u want to develop the report.
If we try to develop the report through the Reports tab(Standard), -> New Report, it prompts to select the report type.
so, both answers are correct.

ReplyDeleteAnswer for 19 should be "Long, Decimal" rather than "URL, Percent". URL and Percent are available in Salesforce.
ReplyDeleteI got tricked as well. They asked 'Valid' data types and not Invalid.
DeleteRagrding question 8. The correct answer is: Select object on which report needs to be generated. By type of report I think they reffer to report format (tabular, matrix etc.)
ReplyDeleteQuestion 8
ReplyDeleteBoth the options "Select object on which report needs to be generated" and "Select type of report" essentially mean the same thing in SFDC terminology.
When you click on Reports tab and then "New Report" button SFDC says "Select Report Type" where they are actually asking you to "Select object (or Object and its associated object) on which report needs to be generated.
We think of "Select Report Type" as choosing whether report should be Tabular, Summary, Matrix or Joined. This SFDC refers to as "Report Format". Once again Tabular, Summary, Matrix and Joined are Report Formats and not Report Types in SFDC.
Essentially, options "Select object on which report needs to be generated" and "Select type of report" should not be put in the same question when they both mean the same thing as per SFDC.
